2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200
Posted locally on Craig's list, this bike was exactly what I had spent most of the summer looking for. I bought it from the original owner in Chapel Hill who had logged almost 18,000 miles on it. I think he was sad to let it go, but he already had a new bike and his wife said this one had to go. That turned out to be my good fortune.
The bike has already been piped, jetted, and got stainless brake lines front and rear. Really, there's nothing I need to do, but I may eventually look at replacing the mirrors and the grips.
This bike is a MOTORcycle. Pavement trembles at this machine's angry mechanical sounds. It probably should have a two-speed gearbox - wide open throttle at anything above 4000 RPM produces fear and flat eyeballs.
