1999 Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe

I purchased this bike in August, 1998. Originally, the idea was to get a bike that I could ride with a passenger. It is an excellent bike, but the trade rags are fairly on target: it needs a 5th gear, a faster warm-up, and maybe just a bit more power. But, I had no problems in the mountains doing two-up on some fairly steep grades. It is really at home on local roads, with good handling and decent ground clearance. I've put over 4,500 miles on it so far, with no problems. The bike gets 140 miles before reserve at 65 miles per gallon.
