Leading a distributed team of 20+ delivering automated lab services for internal and external education, pre-sales demonstration, post-sales delivery preparation, customer case resolution, and corporate customer events. Directing the creation of a next generation virtual platform to allow consolidation of disparate virtual orchestration platforms to drive efficiency and cost savings. Implementing processes to evaluate all lab content for application to other use cases, eliminating redundant development efforts. Responsible for system security hardening and SAN backup-to-tape architecture and implementation. Member of a team responsible for 500 workstations and 100 servers containing 1.6 TB of data in a production environment. Platforms included: Solaris, SunOS 4.x, HP-UX, Digital UNIX, and DEC Ultrix. Responsible for site-wide network and system security policies, procedures, and implementation to defeat a transatlantic network intrusion. Implemented large scale NFS fileservers for 1500 concurrent users on Sun hardware and storage. Tasked with Oracle database administration duties for helpdesk and R&D database servers. Wrote C, Perl, and shell programs to allow helpdesk to perform limited tier 2 tasks, fix limitations in vendor software, and secure systems.
